In 2004, we started as Driftwood Kennels. In 2016, we became DRIFTWOOD BOARDING & WELLNESS to reflect the shift in our approach to animal care under new ownership. In November of 2017, DRIFTWOOD VET officially opened to serve as a local veterinary clinic for small animals.

We provide compassionate, affordable care that is insanely convenient, starting with sudden service and ending with delighted clients.

Located just a mile north of city limits near the Highlands and Fallbrook neighborhoods in NW Lincoln, we are just a few short minutes from the airport and downtown Lincoln, Nebraska. Our facility is situated on 20 scenic acres of rolling native grassland, with private hiking trails carved for our special guests to explore.

Dr. Tony

Dr. Tony, the owner of Driftwood Vet, has been in many phases of veterinary medicine over the years, from starting out as a kennel assistant in high school, to a veterinary assistant in college, professionally as a veterinarian in private practice, and then as a consulting vet in industry. Dr. Tony has also served as the veterinarian on the Nebraska State Board of Health and is a featured guest on 10/11 News at Noon in Lincoln every first and third Wednesday of the month! He has advanced training and expertise in the areas of parasitology, immunology, vaccinology, pathology, dentistry, nutrition, pharmacology, and ultrasonography! (…He does ultrasound studies for Lincoln and Omaha area clinics!) Jami is our Groomer and has been with us since May 2018, but has been working as a groomer for 4 years. She has always wanted to work with dogs and has done work in doggie daycare and boarding kennels before as well. Thanks to her own research and experience, she prides herself on her understanding of dog behavior! She is pictured with her dog Bernard who loves coming to work with her, so you may get the chance to meet both of them at Driftwood!

Camryn is our dog trainer who graduated in 2019 from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a degree in Animal Science and a focus on companion animals. She has has been training pet dogs since 2010 and continues her training in her free time where she competes with her dog in conformation, obedience, and rally.  Camryn shares her home with her dog Denali and her husband Christian.

She graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2015 and then went on to get her masters in reptile ecology working with tortoises down in Florida in 2018. She’s back now and is attending the veterinary medicine program at UNL-ISU as a member of the class of 2022 where she plans to keep pursuing a career working with animals as a veterinarian (so we’ll be seeing her less often during the school year). Carolyn and her husband Kyle own two cats, Ceecee and Sprinkles, Jemma the Golden Retriever, and a toad.

Tricia has been a part of the Driftwood Team since March 2019. She graduated from UNL with a degree in Advertising. Alyssa will continue to take classes the coming semesters in order to apply to vet school in the Fall!

In May 2019, she graduated from the University of Wyoming with a degree in Animal and Veterinary Science. At UW, she was also a member of the women’s basketball team! While in college, she volunteered at a couple of animal shelters and gained experience related to both cats and dogs. In August 2019, she will attend the veterinary medicine program at UNL-ISU. Rachelle and her husband, Noah, own a Siamese cat named Stella, but they have plans of getting another cat in the near future!

Kayleigh joined the Driftwood team in September 2019. She is a Junior at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and is studying Fisheries & Wildlife for conservation biology while in the pre-vet program. She is from Illinois and has prior experience working with dogs and cats in a vet clinic in her home town, but she is excited to continue learning and growing in the field of veterinary medicine. (Kayleigh is a person)

Kai joined the Driftwood team in October, 2019, and is from Scottsbluff Nebraska. She spent 3 years of her undergraduate career at Chadron State College before transferring to UNL in the fall of 2019 as a pre-veterinary student. She will graduate from UNL with a Biology degree in 2020. She worked as a veterinary assistant for two years previously and has mostly had small animal experience with some equine mixed in. She has no personal pets yet but her family dog is an adorable silver lab named Jaeger (pictured).

Karen is one of our dog walkers and has been with us at Driftwood since October 2019. She graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a B.S. in Education. After a short stint as a teacher, she changed careers and began working at Pfizer Animal Health. She retired as a Sr. Scientist in 2012 after 22 years. Her love of dogs (and exercise!) brought her out of retirement to join the team. Karen and her husband Dave have three cats and look forward to owning a dog again someday.

Evan joined the Driftwood team in December 2019. He is currently attending the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and majoring in Veterinary Science while in the pre-vet program. She is currently attending the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and majoring in Fisheries & Wildlife while in the pre-vet program. She hopes to graduate with her bachelors in 2022 and join the UNL 2+2 program where she will continue her training to become a veterinarian. She hopes to specialize in animal behavior and be a veterinarian for exotics or companion animals. Her family owns two Labradors, Wayne and Murray, and she mostly has experience with small domestic animals. Although she is not very experienced (YET), she hopes to learn as much as she can and execute all of her knowledge with excellence.
