In 2004, we started as Driftwood Kennels. In 2016, we became DRIFTWOOD BOARDING & WELLNESS to reflect the shift in our approach to animal care under new ownership. In November of 2017, DRIFTWOOD VET officially opened to serve as a local veterinary clinic for small animals.

We provide compassionate, affordable care that is insanely convenient, starting with sudden service and ending with delighted clients.

Located just a mile north of city limits near the Highlands and Fallbrook neighborhoods in NW Lincoln, we are just a few short minutes from the airport and downtown Lincoln, Nebraska. Our facility is situated on 20 scenic acres of rolling native grassland, with private hiking trails carved for our special guests to explore.

Dr. Tony

Dr. Tony, the owner of Driftwood Vet, has been in many phases of veterinary medicine over the years, from starting out as a kennel assistant in high school, to a veterinary assistant in college, professionally as a veterinarian in a private practice, and then as a consulting vet in industry. Dr. Tony is currently the veterinarian on the Nebraska State Board of Health. He has advanced training and expertise in the areas of parasitology, immunology, vaccinology, pathology, dentistry, nutrition, pharmacology, and ultrasonography! (He does ultrasound studies for Lincoln and Omaha area clinics!) He and his wife Erica have five kids, a bouncing Boxer (Scuba), and a German Shorthaired Pointer named Marvel.

Jami is our Groomer and has been with us since May 2018, but has been working as a groomer for 3 years. She is a certified groomer that started out as a bather because of her love of dogs, but she quickly ranked up and graduated from her grooming internship in Lincoln. She has always wanted to work with dogs and has done work in doggie daycare and boarding kennels before as well. Thanks to her own research and experience, she prides herself on her understanding of dog behavior! She is pictured with her dog Bernard who is 4 years old and loves coming to work with her, so you may get the chance to meet both of them at Driftwood!

Camryn is our Trainer who graduated in 2019 from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a degree in Animal Science and a focus on companion animals. She has had over 10 years of dog training experience, and also plans on continuing on to Training School and eventually open her own business. Camryn shares her home with her dog Denali and her fiance Christian.

Carolyn has been working with us since September 2017. She graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2015 and then went on to get her masters in reptile ecology working with tortoises down in Florida in 2018. She’s back now and is attending the veterinary medicine program at UNL-ISU as a member of the class of 2022 where she plans to keep pursuing a career working with animals as a veterinarian (so we’ll be seeing her less often during the school year). Carolyn and her husband Kyle own CeeCee the cat, Jemma the Golden Retriever, as well as a toad and a gecko.

Cole has been working with us since June 2018. He recently graduated from the university of Nebraska-Lincoln with a degree in Animal Science with dreams of becoming a veterinarian someday. He’s got a passion for the laboratory side of animal medicine and you may find him going over ELISAs in his free time, but he’ll also be here gaining as much experience as he can at Driftwood. He has a German Shorthair Pointer at home named Kylo and one day wants to own a Brittany Spaniel!

Tricia has been a part of the Driftwood Team since March 2019. She graduated from UNL with a degree in Advertising. She has great compassion for animals and brings her experience working doggy daycare and dog walking to the team. Tricia and her husband, Brent, have 3 girls; Bailey, Emma, Jordan, and 2 golden retrievers – Jake and Husker.

Alyssa joined our team in May 2019 and is a senior at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln who will graduate in December 2019 with a degree in Animal Science, with an emphasis in companion animals and a minor in Women and Gender Studies. She has years of experience working with cats in cat shelters and as a foster parent for kittens at the Nebraska Humane Society. She is also currently a zookeeper intern at the Lincoln Children’s Zoo, working with the snow leopards, fossa, bobcats, otters, and wallabies. Alyssa is excited to use her experiences at Driftwood, as a zookeeper intern, and her passion for animals to find a career after graduation that focuses on bettering the lives of companion animals.

Macy has been a part of the Driftwood Team since May of 2019. She is a high school junior participating in 4-H, show choir, theater, and speech. She has always had a family dog but recently got her own German Shorthaired Pointer, Marvel.

Rachelle joined the Driftwood team in June 2019. She is from Pierce, Nebraska, where she grew up around a variety of animals including several dogs, cats, frogs, rabbits, hamsters, and even a chinchilla. In May 2019, she graduated from the University of Wyoming with a degree in Animal and Veterinary Science. At UW, she was also a member of the women’s basketball team! While in college, she volunteered at a couple of animal shelters and gained experience related to both cats and dogs. In August 2019, she will attend the veterinary medicine program at UNL-ISU. Rachelle and her husband, Noah, own a Siamese cat named Stella, but they have plans of getting another cat in the near future!
